I have a driveway with a decent grade so when the rain suddenly freezes overnight, the driveway is nearly impossible to traverse to get the paper, or put out the trash. If you do get to the top, the worse is yet to come because the only way to control your descent is to fall on your butt. I put these babies on and walked up the driveway like I had ice climbing spikes on the bottom!The tread is awesome. The boot is stiff and I suspect by design. I salted my sidewalk and chopped up the ice and the boots were warm and not uncomfortable. Spent too much for shoes of such limited usefulness ( for me), but strangely, got my money's worth.
